Up and running in seconds

How it works

1
Clip in a battery - slide on your 18–20V tool battery.
2
Dial your voltage - set 5–13V and watch the LED readout.
3
Power your gear - plug in and run your 12V kit.
Built-in battery protection

Your $300 battery is safe.

The Volt Dropper has 4-way protection built in. The cheap ones on eBay have none - they'll cheerfully flatten your batteries to zero, shortening their life or killing them entirely.

Low-voltage cut-off

Cuts output at ~15V input - your battery never drains below a safe level.

Over-current shutdown

Trips if your load exceeds 10A - protects the unit and your battery from damage.

Short-circuit protection

Instantly shuts down on a wiring short - no sparks, no fire risk, safe to reconnect.

Thermal protection

If the unit gets too warm, it throttles or shuts down before any damage occurs.

What happens if I run it flat?

The low-voltage cut-off trips automatically before your battery reaches a damaging level. Your battery is fine - just put it back on your normal charger. The Volt Dropper resets when you remove and reattach the battery.

Why this one's different

Protects your battery

Over-discharge cut-off and four-way protection - the cheap units will happily kill a $300 battery.

Know your output

Adjustable 5–13V with a live LED readout, not a fixed, unverified voltage.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Which battery should I pick?
Choose the brand of the 18–20V batteries you already own - the Volt Dropper mounts straight onto them. Twelve brands are supported; if yours isn't listed, get in touch.
DeWalt FlexVolt, Bosch GBA vs PBA, WORX pins - which one am I?
DeWalt FlexVolt batteries automatically switch to 18/20V on this style of mount, so they work fine - pick DeWalt. Bosch (GBA) is the blue professional range; Bosch (PBA) is the green DIY range - check the label on your battery. For WORX, we support the 5-pin 20V batteries: count the contacts on the battery's connector. Still unsure? Send us a photo of your battery and we'll confirm before you order.
Cigarette socket, Anderson plug, or both?
Cigarette socket suits most fridges and accessories out of the box. Anderson is the more secure, higher-current connector common on 4WD and camping setups. "Both" gives you the two outputs on one unit.
Will it flatten my tool battery?
Built-in over-discharge protection cuts output before the battery is drained too low, so your battery is protected. As a guide, one healthy 5Ah battery runs a 40L fridge for around 5–7 hours - add a second battery with the Double Battery Adapter for a full day. Try the runtime calculator above for your setup.
How fast is shipping?
Orders before 12pm AEST dispatch same day from Australia, and you'll get a tracking link the moment it ships. Shipping is free over $75. Ordering multiple items? They can arrive as separate parcels a day or two apart - nothing's missing, the rest is on its way.
Is this the same as the cheap ones on eBay?
No. The $20 marketplace units typically have a fixed, unverified output and no over-discharge protection, so they can drain your battery flat and shorten its life. The Volt Dropper has adjustable 5–13V output with a live LED readout, four-way protection, Australian support and 30-day returns - and we're here to honour the warranty.
What if it's not for me?
30-day returns, no fuss. It's also covered by Australian consumer guarantees and our local support team.
