It’s built tough for Australian conditions, by Aussies who know what it’s like to camp, tour, and live outdoors.

🔋Tips to get more runtime from your 12V fridge!

Some tips to get longer runtimes:

  • Set your fridge to ECO mode or low power mode (if it has it).
  • Ensure it has been precooled for at least a couple hours. i.e. plug it into your vehicle socket while driving or a 240V AC house plug for a couple hours before you leave.
  • Keep it at least half full! The thermal mass of the internal contents will help to keep it cool.
  • Dont leave your fridge in direct sunlight. Put it in some shade if possible.
  • Limit the amount of times you open the lid! Opening and closing lets cold air escape.
  • Smaller fridges last longer. If your trying to run a 110L fridge from a tool battery you will struggle to get much duration out of it! Stick to fridges under 60L for best results. Around the 20-40L size is ideal.

🦘 Designed & Tested in Australia

The Volt Dropper is proudly designed & tested in Australia, made to handle red dust, salt air, corrugations, and hot weather without skipping a beat.

Keep your 12V fridge running for up to 12 hours on a single 12Ah battery — no need for ice, no need to leave the car running. Just pop in a drill battery and enjoy cold drinks, chilled bait, or a working camp light — anywhere you go.

💬 What Blokes Are Saying

★★★★★

Hooked up 2x6ah Makita batteries to a Kings 40lt fridge and it went from room temp start up and ran to 3c , got over 10hrs from it (went to bed at 11pm) fridge was going strong at that point but obviously overnight at some point it went flat but over 12hrs of running. Worth it for sure

★★★★★

These are actually pretty good , I've got the double battery unit and currently running a 12v water pump easy hot water unit has dies so it's running a 12v instant gas unit , I've also got 14hrs running a 12v 40lt camp fridge , all up a great idea

Steve, Queensland

★★★★★

“Chucked it in the golf buggy with a 6Ah Ryobi battery and kept the drinks cold the whole round. Better than carting a bag of ice.”

FAQs

Q1: What does the Volt Dropper actually do?
It converts an 18V–21V power tool battery into a stable 12V power source — adjustable from 5V to 13V. That means you can run things like a car fridge, LED camp lights, fans or an air pump straight from your drill battery.

Q2: Which batteries does it work with?
It works directly with 18V lithium-ion batteries from:

  • Makita
  • Milwaukee
  • DeWalt
  • Ozito
  • Bosch
  • Ryobi (with adapter)(sold separately)
  • AEG (with adapter)(sold separately)
  • HiKOKI (with adapter)(sold separately)

If you’ve got a compatible 18V tool, we’ve probably got you covered.

Q3: How much power can it handle?
It can deliver up to 10 amps, which is plenty for running most 12V gear like fridges, compressors, lights, and camp fans.

Q4: Can I adjust the voltage output?
Yep — you can dial it in from 5V up to 13V, depending on what you're powering. Set it and forget it.

Q5: How long will it run a car fridge?
Most 12V fridges draw around 1-2A per hour. So, a 6Ah battery should give you around 5-8 hours of runtime — depending on temperature, fridge size, how often you open it, and how full it is.

Opening and closing lets acold air escape.
  • Smaller fridges last longer. If your trying to run a 110L fridge from a tool battery you will struggle to get much duration out of it! Stick to fridges under 60L for best results. Around the 20L size is ideal.

Q6: Is it safe for electronics?
Absolutely. It’s got built-in protection against:

  • Overload
  • Over-current
  • Low voltage
  • Short circuits
  • No-load operation

So your gear’s protected even in tough conditions.

Q7: What kind of plugs does it have?
You get to choose:

50A Anderson-style plug (with waterproof cap) — for high-draw, rugged setups

12V cigarette socket — perfect for plugging in fridges, pumps, lights and standard car gear

Q8: Can I see what voltage it’s outputting?
Sure can — there’s a digital LED display that shows your live output voltage, so you always know what’s going on.

Q9: Is it made in Australia?
Yep. Proudly designed, tested and built in Australia, made for the harsh stuff — dust, heat, corrugations, the lot.

Q10: How tough are the cables?
The wiring is double-protected with PVC sleeving and a reinforced plug sheath. Built to handle knocks, drags, and whatever your campsite throws at it.
